Enniscrone Golf Club – Society Special Offers 2015

The golfing jewel of the West, Enniscrone Golf Club, has some superb society offers for the 2015 golf season.

Their Gold Package consists of 1 round of Golf, dinner in the Clubhouse & 1 night’s B&B in either the Diamond Coast Hotel or Ocean Sands Hotel. Midweek this will cost just €80 per person sharing with Weekends costing €100 per person sharing.

Enniscrone’s Sliver Package includes Golf & Dinner for €45 per person midweek and €60 per person on weekends. Their Bronze Package has a Golf only rate of €35pp midweek and €50pp weekend while there is a 2-day package available on request for the Dunes course.

Enniscrone Golf Club also offer a 2 Day Society Package with Golf on the Dunes course, Dinner in the Clubhouse, Overnight with Breakfast at the Diamond Coast Hotel or Ocean Sands Hotel followed by Golf on the Scurmore Course the following day for €95 per person sharing midweek or €115 per person sharing weekend. Charlie McGoldrick Cup 2014 at Enniscrone

The Charlie McGoldrick Cup took place recently at Enniscrone Golf Club on Friday 29th & 30th August. It was an excellent event with over 150 players taking part, which was made all the more enjoyable by the beautiful weather that was present on both days.

Golfers from every corner of Ireland and beyond travelled to Enniscrone to remember one of the clubs best ambassadors. Charlie would have loved the fact that there was a slight breeze on both days as he would say “The breeze will sort the good from the average” as he would have said! And so it did, scoring was very good on both days with a number of 40pts being returned. The honour of winning the 2014 Charlie McGoldrick Cup fell to Deputy Head Greenkeeper, Ciaran Sweeney, to take cup, beating Robert Jacob on the back 6 . Now I know who was possible responsible for those pin positions!!

3rd Charlie McGoldrick Cup takes place at Enniscrone

The 3rd Charlie McGoldrick Cup will take place at Enniscrone Golf Club on Friday 29th & Saturday 30th August 2014. Charlie was the PGA Professional at Enniscrone Golf Club for 21 years, until his early retirement due to ill health in March 2011. He sadly passed away in August of 2011.

This is the third year of The Charlie McGoldrick Cup and it has proved a very successful event, with people playing in it from all over Ireland and beyond. The format is unique in that it can be won by a Lady, Gent or Junior Golfer and they can be either a member or visitor, with the best score over the two days of the competition to count. So that means if a competitor plays on Friday then this is the score that will be accepted to win the Cup, if a competitor plays both days then the Friday score will be accepted for the Cup but the Saturday score will be eligible for the Saturday competition as there will be prizes available for both. I, for one and I’m sure I won’t be in the minority here, will try to play both days!

West of Ireland Charity Event for Enniscrone

The West of Ireland Major Charity Golf Event will take place on Friday 28th March 2014 at Enniscrone Golf Club, Co Sligo. The format is a 18-Hole Open Singles Stableford competition for the ladies and gents.

The entry fee is only €30 per player and all monies collected will be divided equally between the three charities the event is being run for. These charities are as follows:
Gena Heraty Haiti Fund

For the past 16 years,(since May, 1993) Gena has been a volunteer worker with International Aid Agency Nos Petits Freres et Soeurs (NPH) (Little Brothers and Sisters in Christ) in an orphanage in Haiti in Kenscoff which is about 15km from Port-au-Price (www.nphhaiti.org). www.nphhaiti.org).h is about 15km from Port-au-Prince

Pieta House West

Pieta House, the centre for the prevention of self-harm or suicide, opened in Lucan, County Dublin in January 2006. Since then, they have opened five centres of excellence in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10, Mungret, County Limerick, Roscrea, County Tipperary, Tuam, County Galway, Bishopstown, County Cork and most recently Castleisland, County Kerry as well as an outreach centre in Dublin’s Finglas.

Barrettstown

Barretstown is a specially designed camp that provides Therapeutic Recreation programmes for children with serious illness and their families. Barretstown’s mission is to rebuild the lives of children affected by serious illness and their families. We believe that every child with serious illness should enjoy their childhood.

Enniscrone Golf Club – Early Season Offers

Enniscrone Golf Club is one of my favourite courses in Ireland, and therefore the World! It is a true gem of a links course and has some of the most spectacular golf holes over its 18-hole layout.

They have some great early season offers at the moment. For the month of March 2 Players can play The Dunes Championship Course for only €80 including Golf Buggy and for Month of April 4 players can play The Dunes Championship Course for €200 to include Tea/Coffee on arrival, Round of Golf and a Main Course after play!

The Enniscrone Golf Club Open Week also starts on June 23rd. You can contact Christina on 096-36297 to book any of the above offers or to get more details about their Open Week. There are some fantastic Membership offers available too, so much so I’ll be considering Country Membership while I am in Ghana!! One fantastic membership deal is a new 1st year Full Membership for only €266!! This deal applies to ladies or gents that have not been a member of a golf club for at least 5 years, that’s one helluva way to get back into golf if you’ve taken a break from the game or take up the game itself.
